LOCATION QUESTIONS

Q:  Is Belle Maison B&B a vacation rental?

A:  No, Belle Maison B&B is not a vacation rental or an AirBnB.  It is traditional bed and breakfast that more clearly aligns with a hotel.  It is a private home where we have chosen to provide gracious individual hospitality to our guests.

Q:  What unique rooms does Belle Maison B&B offer?

A:  At Belle Maison B&B, we offer three uniquely charming rooms:  the cozy Laburnum Cottage, the tranquil Nest, and the scenic Seaview Room.  Each space is thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation.  

 

Q:  What exciting activities can you enjoy near Belle Maison?  

A:  Experience the thrill of whale watching, glide through tranquil waters while kayaking, or soak in the breathtaking beauty of Butchart Gardens.  And don't miss the charming rocky beach just an 8-minute walk away, perfect for exploring tide pools and enjoying the coastal vibe!

 

Q:  Is Belle Maison B&B IN Sidney?

A:  Technically, no.  The Bed & Breakfast is an 8 minute drive from Sidney, nearer the Swartz Bay ferry terminal. It is located in North Saanich, but very close to Sidney.

Q:  Do I need a car to get to your B&B near Sidney?

A:  We recommend you have a vehicle.  It is possible to come by BC Transit (Bus # 85) from Victoria via Sidney.

Q:  How close are you to the Victoria airport YYJ?​

A:  You can reach Belle Maison B&B in 12 minutes once you leave the airport parking lot.

Q:  I am planning to come to Belle Maison B&B via Swartz Bay ferry from Vancouver.   How do I get from the ferry to the B&B?

A:  After unloading, the traffic is sent down the highway where you will pull off at the Wain Road overpass.  Follow it across the highway and around and turn up toward the ferry (a giant U-turn).  You will see Lands End Road exit on the right.  Take it over the bridge and follow about 2.5 km to Belle Maison B&B Sidney.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE QUESTIONS

Q:  Is breakfast included in your nightly rate?

A:  Yes, a full custom-made breakfast is included in the nightly rate.  Our breakfast includes fruit juice, a choice of egg dishes, yogurt, fruit, home-made hashbrowns, bacon, toast & jam and choice of coffees and tea.

 

Q:  I'm vegetarian.  Can you provide a breakfast for me?

A:  Yes, just give us advance message when you book.  We can also take care of gluten-free and vegan requests.

 

Q:  What time is breakfast served?

A:  Breakfast is served at your choice of time BETWEEN  8 and 10.  The Nest and Seaview guests are served either on the balcony or in the dining room.  Breakfast is delivered out to Laburnum Cottage.

 

Q:  I need to leave the B&B well before breakfast.  Can I have my breakfast "to go"?

A:  Unfortunately we cannot provide "take out" food as dictated by law.

 

Q:  Is there a restaurant at this B&B near Sidney?

A:  We serve breakfast only, as permitted by law.  Sidney, an 8 minute drive has a lot of restaurants to choose from and you can always order in with Uber Eats.  

 

Q:  Do you serve alcohol?

A:  No.  We are not permitted to serve it to our guests.  However, guests are welcome to bring their own.

Q:  Is there a fridge in the room?

A:  Both The Nest and Laburnum Cottage have fridges.  

 

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TRADITIONAL B&B

Q:  What is a Traditional B&B?

A:  Belle Maison B&B is a traditional Bed and Breakfast.  This is different from a vacation rental in that we provide individual hospitality in our home, providing a homey atmosphere.  We meet and greet our guests, prepare and serve breakfast and provide beautiful guest rooms.  We also interact with our guests as they choose.  A traditional Bed & Breakfast offers a unique and personal experience.  

 

Q:  Do you allow kids?

A:  Belle Maison B&B is an adult-only property.

Q:  I see there is a balcony.  What room gets the balcony?

A:  The balcony is shared between The Seaview (2nd floor) and The Nest (3rd floor).  There is comfortable seating for 4 persons, and breakfast on the balcony is a very popular choice in the summertime.

Q:  The picture of Belle Maison B&B looks like a hotel.  Is it?

A:  No, Belle Maison is not a hotel.  It is a private home on an acre of land near the ocean and has 2 rooms for guests to book and a Garden Suite called Laburnum Cottage.  

 

Q:  We have booked a room with you but our flight to YYJ is getting in later than your cutoff time for check-in.  How will we get in?

A:  Just let us know what your arrival time is expected to be and your flight number and we will track it - and wait for you to arrive.

Q:  Are you pet friendly?

A:  We have a no pet policy as some of future guests may have allergies to animals.

Q:  Does Uber operate in Sidney?

A:  Yes, Uber does operate in Sidney and North Saanich.  Uber is familiar with pickup and delivery of guests (and Uber Eats) to the B&B near Sidney!

Q:  I am on crutches.  Can I manoeuvre ok at Belle Maison B&B?

A:  The B&B is high on a hill and necessitates a lot of stairs - both to get to the house and the rooms themselves.  It is not suitable for those with mobility challenges - even if those are temporary!
